At present, he plays a crucial role on the Executive Team at the Family Strategies Counseling Center, leveraging his extensive experience and wisdom to support and advise his colleagues. His professional path is deeply rooted in a rich academic history, with his education spanning prestigious institutions like Arizona State University, Ottawa University, and the International Institute for Clinical Sexology.

He made significant contributions during his nine-year tenure with the City of Tempe Social Services, where he worked as a supervisor assisting school-age children and their families. He also served as an approved supervisor with the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health and earned recognition as a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist and Clinical Sexologist.

A defining moment in Floyd’s career was his involvement in the development of the Sexual Addiction & Betrayal Trauma (SABR) program. His insights were instrumental in making this program a successful clinical intervention for men dealing with sexual addictions and their partners. His commitment to addressing compulsive sexual behavior in young men led him to co-author the acclaimed workbooks, “Band of Brothers” and “Tribe.” His esteemed memberships in organizations like SASH (The Society for the Advancement of Sexual Health), the International Institute for Trauma and Addiction Professionals (IITAP), and the American Association of Christian Counselors (AACC) further underscore his respected status in mental health and counseling.

His wisdom is also evident in his book, “Healing & Recovery – A Perspective for Young Men with Sexualized Attachments,” which serves as a vital resource for young men grappling with mental health issues related to sexual attachments. He enjoys immersing himself in nature and outdoor activities outside his professional life. His hobbies, including swimming, boating, gardening, camping, and hiking, reflect his love for the serenity of nature and his adventurous spirit. His commitment to Christian Youth Ministry and his role in mentoring teenagers bring the essence of his counseling work into his personal life, demonstrating the depth of wisdom gained from his experiences.

In addition to his professional accomplishments, Floyd Godfrey is the founder of the HOPE Foundation for Mental Health, where he has been instrumental in raising funds to provide counseling services to those in need for over 13 years.
